Douglas Gordon FEATURE FILM, at Videoart at Midnight

Venerdì 22 febbraio, alle 24:00 al BABYLON, Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz (Berlino) Videoart at Midnight presenterà il film in 35 mm di Douglas Gordon, „Feature Film“. Douglas Gordon sarà ospite della serata. Gordon ha separati e estratto la musica di Hermann, Vertigo, dalla narrazione e dalle immagini di Hitchcock e ha combinato la suggestiva musica con la registrazione di Conlon, che dirige l’orchestra dell’Opera di Parigi: 3 videocamere filmano il direttore d’orchestra, soffermandosi sui dettagli specialmente i suoi occhi, il suo viso, le sue mani. Conlon è l’attore principale di Gordon. L’orchestra composta da 100 elementi non si vede, si può solo ascoltare. Il direttore d’orchestra diviene il medium della musica.

On Friday, Feb 22nd, 2013, h 24:00 at BABYLON, Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz (Berlin), Videoart at Midnight will present Douglas Gordon 35 mm „Feature Film“ and he will be the guest of the night. Gordon separated and extracted Hermann’s “Vertigo” music from Hitchcock’s story telling and pictures and combines the suggestive music with the recordings of Conlon directing the Orchestra of Paris Opera: three cameras are filming the conductor – especially details such as his eyes, his face and his hands. Conlon is Douglas’ principal actor. The orchestra with its 100 musicians is not visible. You can just hear it. It is playing the original score of “Vertigo” in its full length. The conductor becomes the medium of the music.
